Tent & Party Rentals in Bergen County, NJ
Delivering premium tents, tables, chairs, and full event setup to Bergen County weddings, corporate events, and family parties — from our Central NJ locations.
Bergen County — Our Newest Expansion Market
Starrs Party & Tent Rental is headquartered in Hunterdon and Somerset counties — but Bergen has been a meaningful part of our service map for years now. We did not push into Bergen because we ran out of work at home. We extended east because the same couples, corporate event planners, and venue managers who hire us in Central NJ kept calling from Ridgewood, Mahwah, and Saddle River asking whether we would make the drive. The answer eventually became yes, then standing yes, then "we have a Bergen crew on the schedule almost every weekend in season."
Bergen has a different geographic and economic identity than the counties we are based in. It is dense, affluent, and built around the NYC commuter belt — which means our event mix here skews toward backyard estate weddings on large suburban lots, corporate functions on campus, and the milestone family events that come with a high-income suburban demographic. Same-day deliveries to all of Bergen are possible from our locations, and we run regular weekly routes through the county from late spring through mid-fall. Browse our work in nearby Morris County and Somerset County for the same Central-NJ-to-North-NJ service pattern.
Bergen County Wedding & Event Venues
Bergen has more indoor wedding venues than outdoor — country clubs, banquet halls, hotels, and historic mansions with their own ballroom space dominate the published wedding-venue lists. That is not where our work in Bergen comes from. Our Bergen business is overwhelmingly built on the private-estate and backyard-wedding market, which is unusually strong here for a county this densely developed. Saddle River, Alpine, Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, and Mahwah all have meaningful concentrations of large private lots — half-acre, one-acre, and multi-acre estate properties where homeowners host the wedding instead of paying a venue.
We also tent receptions at Bergen country clubs and private golf properties when the club allows outside vendors. Apple Ridge Country Club in Mahwah is one of the better-known options in the northern part of the county; several other Bergen clubs operate as full venues with their own preferred-vendor lists. Send us the venue name with your quote request and we will tell you within one business day whether we already have a relationship with that property or need to introduce ourselves to the venue manager.
The third bucket of Bergen wedding work for us is indoor-outdoor hybrid events — a ceremony or cocktail hour outdoors under a tent, a reception inside an existing structure, or vice versa. Any time the client controls the vendor selection (private property, family-owned venue, or a venue with an open-vendor policy), we are an option. We are not trying to replace your venue's in-house furniture program; we are the option when the venue does not have the inventory, when you want a look the venue cannot deliver, or when the entire event lives outside under a Starrs wedding tent.
Bergen County Corporate Event Market
Bergen is one of the most corporate-dense counties in New Jersey, and that is a meaningful chunk of our work here. Mahwah alone hosts a long-running corporate concentration anchored by Sharp Electronics and the historical BMW of North America campus. Park Ridge is home to Sony, Konica Minolta, and a cluster of mid-sized B2B operations. Englewood Cliffs houses LG Electronics' North American headquarters and CNBC. Montvale, Paramus, and Hackensack add additional density of regional offices, hospital systems, and professional services firms.
That corporate concentration drives steady event volume in formats Starrs is built to handle — employee summer picnics on campus lawns, executive retreats with tented outdoor sessions, product-launch events with branded tent setups, ribbon cuttings and grand openings, and quarterly partner appreciation gatherings. We provide corporate event rentals as full-service packages: tent, climate control, tables, chairs, lighting, dance floor where needed, and complete delivery / setup / breakdown.
For corporate vendor compliance we issue same-day certificates of insurance with the venue or property owner named as additional insured. Our standard general-liability coverage already meets or exceeds the limits every Bergen corporate campus we have worked with has required. If your procurement team needs anything beyond a standard COI — W-9, vendor onboarding forms, OSHA documentation — we have those ready as well.
What We Rent in Bergen
Bergen properties skew toward developed suburban lots — driveways, patios, and prepared lawns rather than the open farm fields that dominate our Hunterdon work. That changes which tent and floor systems we recommend.
Tents
Frame tents are our default in Bergen — they require no center poles and install cleanly on driveways, patios, and prepared lawns where ground penetration is limited or impossible. For grass installs on larger Saddle River and Alpine estate properties, we move to pole tents and sailcloth tents, which give the classic peaked silhouette and photograph beautifully against mature landscaping. We size every tent to your guest count, your dance-floor footprint, and your buffet plan — not to a generic square-footage rule.
Tables & Chairs
Chiavari and cross-back chairs are the default for Bergen weddings; gold, mahogany, white, and natural wood are all in stock. Folding chairs cover graduations, corporate picnics, and family reunions. We stock 60-inch rounds for plated receptions, rectangular farm tables for vineyard-style family-service dinners, and cocktail-height rounds for the welcome hour.
Linens & Lighting
Bistro string lights are universal — almost every Bergen tent we install gets them. Chandeliers are the upgrade we recommend for high-budget sailcloth tents in Saddle River, Alpine, and Franklin Lakes. Up-lighting around tent perimeters, pin-spots on cake tables, full linen programs in standard wedding colors, and fabric draping on tent legs are all in our standard inventory.
Dance Floors
We install hardwood, black-and-white parquet, and white-vinyl dance floors over leveled sub-floor systems. For grass installs the sub-floor is not optional — Bergen suburban lawns settle and tilt the same as any other lawn, and a 20x20 dance floor on raw grass will rock under load. We sub-floor every grass install as standard practice.
Climate Control
Heaters for May, September, and October events. Tent fans or full HVAC for July and August receptions, sized off the tent footprint and guest count. We will tell you up front during the quote process which package your event needs.
Cities & Towns We Serve in Bergen
We deliver, set up, and break down across the entire county. Bergen is a 45 to 60 minute drive from our headquarters — we plan around that with morning delivery windows and structured pickup schedules. Here is a snapshot of where Starrs trucks show up in Bergen.
Service & Delivery from Central NJ to Bergen
We want to be straight about geography. Our warehouses sit in Glen Gardner (Hunterdon) and Bernardsville (Somerset), which puts most Bergen addresses at a 45 to 60 minute drive. That is real time on the truck, and it is the single biggest operational consideration on every Bergen install we run. We plan around it instead of pretending it does not exist.
What that looks like in practice: morning delivery windows for Friday or Saturday events, the day-before whenever the property allows it, and structured Monday-through-Wednesday return pickup so our crews can finish a Bergen install without competing with a Friday Hunterdon delivery. For weekend weddings we typically arrive Friday morning, complete tent + dance floor + heavy items that day, and return Saturday for table-and-chair setup and final dressing.
Same-day rush deliveries to Bergen are available with a surcharge. We have done them — replacement tents into Mahwah backyards the morning of a failed competitor delivery, emergency heater drops when a weather forecast changed overnight. They are real but they cost more than a planned-week-out delivery, and we will be honest about whether we can pull it off before you hand us a credit card.
